The Gate of Heaven in Siena is an extremely fascinating route that leads to the rooftops of Siena Cathedral. This visit is only possible at certain times of the year. Every year, in fact, certain areas of the Duomo that are not usually open to the public are opened. From March to October, it is possible to visit the roofs, galleries and a number of rooms that house wonderful works of art.

The tour begins by ascending a circular staircase in one corner of the church. Once at the top of the cathedral, an alternating itinerary begins between the interior and exterior: it will leave you speechless. Prices and viewing times for the Gates of Heaven in Siena
The timetables for visiting the Gates of Heaven vary throughout the year. During the covered floor period:
- From 1 April to 31 October: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 13:30 to 18:00.
- From 1 November to 31 March: Monday to Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- 26 December to 6 January: Monday to Saturday 10:30 to 18:00, public holidays 1:30 to 17:30, and public holidays 10:30 to 17:30.
Conversely, the period when the floor is uncovered runs from 27 June to 31 July and from 18 August to 17 October with the following opening hours: 10:00 to 19:00 p.m., on public holidays 9:30 to 18:00. Last entry 30 minutes before closing time.
It is possible to purchase a single ticket that allows access to the Gates of Heaven, the Cathedral and all the museums in the same complex. The cost of the ticket is:
- adults: 20.00 euro
- children (7 to 11 years): 5 euros
- children (under 6 years): free admission
