Museo della Contrada Capitana dell’Onda
The Museum of the Onda neighbourhood is known as “MOnd” The museum is an innovative space in the heart of the neighbourhood, of its ancient life and living memory, and a doorway to the discovery of the district. The exhibition runs from the new spaces of the former Policarpo Bandini asylum to the Fabbrica di San Giuseppe (St Joseph Factory), where the Giovanni Duprè plaster-statue gallery and the Palii (banners) won in the Palio races by the neighbourhood are found.
Every object in the Museum is an invitation to discover the neighbourhood and its history. The new museum is a physical space that “speaks” for the whole neighbourhood and uses modern technology to create an interactive experience, offering stories, suggestions and tales of what Onda has been and will be.
